DRAMA CUE CARDS GAME (G104)

Drama Cue Cards Game

All you need is a great imagination to play the game of Cue Cards. There are three categories: setting, situation, and character...with 150 cards for each category. Divide the class into groups of 2, 3, or 4 students. Each student will select a character card from the deck; the group will then select one setting and situation card. Allow a specific time frame for students to prepare a skit involving the specified characters, setting, and situation. Simple props may be used at your discretion. Let the fun begin! Middle school/High school.

My students absolutely love this card game! It teaches them to become flexible and think outside of the box. Using the language of each area they are sure to convey the scene. The situation becomes clear and they are conscious of their setting thoughout the game. No matter how crazy the scene, the basic elements are produced and recognized. This carries over easily into story writing and play writng. I highly recommend this to all LISD MS Theatre Arts!
Pros -
This game is quick and easy to jump right into, with little or no prep. I pull three charaters, a situation, and a setting.... they are off planning for 1 minute and Wah-La..... we have improvised a scene
Cons -
I wish there were a Cue Cards volume 2!
